The Waiting
 
The Waiting began as an intuitive abstract painting. Layers of acrylic and artist mediums were built up freely, creating textured surfaces and subtle depth. The rich structural effects create a tactile quality — reminiscent of ice, wind-worn surfaces, and the quiet erosion of time.
As the process unfolded, something quietly insisted on emerging — a story asking to be told.
When that happens, I simply follow.
Out of the abstract grew a scene: two men ice fishing on a frozen lake, surrounded by vast stillness. The atmosphere carries a timeless, almost mythical quality — as if it belongs to another era. The muted palette and soft transitions create a calm and harmonious expression, yet beneath the surface there is tension.
The painting speaks of signs in nature. Of patience. Of listening.
It captures that suspended moment when nothing seems to move — and yet everything is about to change. The quiet anticipation before something reveals itself. A reminder that waiting is not emptiness, but a necessary part of transformation.
